I hadn't been following the eminent domain battles very closely, but we did a whole unit on it in con law last year, and it's interesting stuff. This article does a pretty good job of laying out the sides and noting the significance. There's quite a fine line of distinction between legitimate and not that is very difficult to define. I think there's definitely a case to be made that the Supreme Court has let the government overstep it's bounds.
